See all on Google ↗We recently completed a major impact window and door installation with Impact Ready Glass, working directly with Andy McCurdy and his son, Andy. The transformation of our 1989 built home was nothing short of remarkable. What started as a house with outdated single-pane glass windows—many with arch and radius designs—has become a modern, sleek, and hurricane-ready home. The project wasn’t just an installation—it required extensive fabrication and remodeling to accommodate the best practices in impact-resistant window and door design.
Why We Chose Impact Ready Glass
We evaluated several companies for this project but ultimately chose Impact Ready Glass because they demonstrated a clear willingness to spend the time working through the transformation issues that inevitably arise when an idea meets the reality of structure and engineering. This wasn’t a simple swap-out of old windows for new ones—it was a true redesign that required expertise, flexibility, and problem-solving at every stage.
Key Changes & Transformation:
Structural Modifications & Fabrication:
The original windows and doors weren’t just replaced—they were completely reimagined. Many openings had to be reframed to accommodate larger, more functional rectangular glass panels in place of the old arch and radius-style windows. These changes maximized natural light and created a cleaner, more contemporary aesthetic while ensuring the structure met modern hurricane codes.
Larger Glass Openings & Aesthetic Overhaul:
By removing the old grids (muntins) and expanding glass surfaces, the house now feels open, modern, and sleek—closer to a California-style home with expansive glass views than a traditional Florida home. The difference in curb appeal is stunning—our home now looks brand new.
Craftsmanship & Installation Crew Excellence:
The installation crew, led by Julio, was outstanding. Their meticulous attention to detail and level of craftsmanship surpassed anything I’ve seen in the marketplace. And I would know—I previously headed a company that worked directly with window installers. The precision and care they took throughout the process far exceeded industry norms.
Enhanced Insulation, Security & Hurricane Resistance:
Beyond aesthetics, this upgrade drastically improved safety and efficiency. The new Marvin Coastline series impact windows and doors offer exceptional protection against storms, intrusions, and energy loss. The old single-pane glass leaked air and heat, but now, the home stays cooler, reducing our energy costs significantly.
Overall Impact – A Safer, Cooler, & Modern Home:
This was more than just a window upgrade—it was a full-scale transformation. The amount of remodeling required to fit these high-end impact-resistant windows and doors was extensive, but the results speak for themselves. The house now feels brand new, significantly cooler, more secure, and visually striking.
Installation Summary:
* 18 impact-resistant Marvin Coastline windows (avg. size: 6' x 6')
* 6 impact-resistant doors, some as tall as 9 feet
* Installation Time: ~3 weeks
We have been extremely pleased so far with the Marvin Coastline series windows—they provide superior hurricane resistance, energy efficiency, and a high-end aesthetic.
The Impact Ready Glass team was exceptional—from their craftsmanship to their attention to detail, they ensured every window and door not only fit seamlessly but enhanced the home’s overall look and feel.
If you're considering a high-quality impact window and door installation with a company that understands both function and design, Impact Ready is the team to call. This was a significant investment, but worth every dollar—our home is now stronger, more energy-efficient, and truly beautiful.
Impact Ready built my custom lanai and glass room addition that are both over the top unique! Super happy with the quality and outcome.
I'm surprised at myself that I haven't left a review for this company yet. We worked with Impact Ready twice. They enclosed our lanai, turning it into a beautiful sunroom in our condo and again installed beautiful hurricane windows in our new home. They treat you with respect, kindness, and integrity. They did excellent work and their team, especially their owner Andy, is one of the most intelligent and knowledgable individuals I have ever known. They have become like family to us, and I fully recommend them for windows, doors, carports - whatever they do will exceed your expectations!
We used Impact Ready Windows years ago for most of our home and have been happy with their work ever since. The only window we had not upgraded with impact glass at the time was a large bay window that still had double-paned glass. After one of the major hurricanes, that window started showing signs of damage with frosting between the panes.
Impact Ready came out, replaced the old glass with impact-rated glass, and we haven’t had a single issue since.
