I barely ever take the time to write a review, but I was very impressed with this company so I was inspired to do so. Getting hurricane shutters installed on my home was always something I knew I had to do living in Southwest Florida especially after Hurricane Ian so I began researching companies and cost. I knew I had to go with a reputable company that I trusted whose product would protect my house and possessions in the event of another monster storm. I came across AHT on the internet and felt they’d be good for the job. I also saw a segment featuring AHT on The Weather Channel so after that I was completely sold. I had high expectations for them and they didn’t disappoint. Every step of the process was conducted very smoothly. From the initial consultation and preliminary measurements to the final touches. They always showed up on the date they said and very punctual right down to the minute that they told me they would be arriving each day throughout the duration of the job. The installers were here for 3 days. The same installers were here each day. They were courteous, very neat, careful, and very hardworking. They kept me in the loop every step of the way explaining everything to me. The AHT electrician came after the installation was complete outside and he was great as well. Very punctual, knowledgeable, respectful of the inside of my house when he was going in and out of the attic to ensure that the electric motors would properly work with the use of the remote. The hurricane shutters are so quiet when closing and opening without hardly a sound. The remote control works great and very easy to use. AHT set up the appointment with the Collier County Inspector and everything passed easily. The last day two guys came over to install the Wi-Fi hub for me and teach me how to use the app on my iPhone. They were also great guys who took the time to explain everything thoroughly. Now no matter where I am in the US, I can control the hurricane shutters from my phone. It’s wonderful to know I can open close or stop them no matter where I’m located. I was a bit nervous how they would look once installed. I hoped they wouldn’t be an eyesore to look at when they are open and not needed but I’m extremely happy because they are very inconspicuous. They blend into my house even better than I was expecting making them hardly noticeable and very conforming. When I called the main office to ask any questions they were always very accommodating. I asked them to send me some paperwork and receipts in the mail that I could provide my insurance company with to get a reduction on my home insurance policy and AHT mailed them to me immediately. Even the initial salesman who came over to take the first measurements gave me his personal cell phone number in case I had any questions. Everyone at AHT that I’ve dealt with was really great and I don’t have a single complaint. I’ve recommended them to other homeowners at my latest HOA meeting. Having these hurricane shutters gives me a real peace of mind that I will be prepared for the next big one when it comes my way whether it be this year or 5-10 years down the road. I’ll be ready and that’s worth the cost to me. It will be far more expensive to deal with the damage of a hurricane without this protection. It’s more cost effective to just pay for the shutters and be proactive. If you’re thinking of doing it also, don’t think anymore and just do it. AHT makes it easy.

Customer Reviews
See all on Google ↗State contractor here. Its not cool you blame your customer for problems you guys clearly caused. Only bought fabric rolldowns but NEVER again. Yall just cost me xtra time/ money/ energy for the last time never use you again rather lose a job then deal with AHT.
A year and a half ago I used AHT for a client of mine. Originally I called a company called Imogen, but did not know they were bought out by AHT. AHT came out, looked at the job and said they could have it completed within a month. The screens were three built in rolldown Hurricane fabric Shutters. The two on each end, motors went out and the one in the middle was jammed and part was broken. They said they would replace the middle one with a new screen and fix what broke. They fixed the motors right away yet three months later and no new screen. I called the company and I could tell they could not even remember they had this job still to do. Needless to say, they came out and rehung the same old fabric shutter. Fast-forward to now and the middle screen broke again. I had a different company come out and from what they told me whoever fixed it last time did a hack job. They showed me the issue and it was absolutely ridiculous. I highly recommend to stay away from AHT. They do not care in the type of work they do and they proved they will cut corners in order to complete a job.
I had a poor experience with this company because of their dishonest billing practices. Please refer to Yelp for another user who had a similar experience.
Summary: they surprised bill and over billed me and their final concession was still dishonest.
Something to be aware of: They charge $257/hour for maintenance work and round up in hour increments. Be very clear about the work expected to be performed and the maximum price you’ll pay.
I approved a work order for $875 to replace shutter motor and what I thought included the maintenance of my shutters; the price included a 15% discount the company offered due to the recent hurricane (I had to ask for a discount though) but this work order didn’t include tax. I received the bill after the work was completed but the amount was for $1,355 (without tax for some reason). That’s a 55% increase, which came from two hours of labor at $257/hour and a slat hanger for $50. I approved the original work order assuming maintenance was included, but I was okay paying for added labor even though the original work order didn’t include any estimate for it and their hourly rate is unfairly high (my opinion on the latter). But I had an issue particularly with the two hours of labor they charged.
I called the office to question the two hours of labor and pointed out that the motor installation already included an hour of work per the original invoice (see picture). They took an hour of labor off the invoice but kept an hour of labor on the bill. I asked why they would charge me for an hour of labor when the tech was there for an additional 30 minutes and they said that they bill in hour increments. I pointed out that this wasn’t laid out on the original invoice and furthermore it’s unethical to bill this way. They once more lowered the invoice, but instead changed the labor performed to “trip charge” for home visit repair and diagnosis (see picture) after they told me they aren’t like the competitors and don’t charge for home visits; further, this came after they had already agreed to come out to fix the motor, so the tech was already there and a trip charge wouldn't make sense in this context.
I ended up paying the bill because the difference between what the bill should’ve been and what they offered was $100 different, but it took multiple emails and a call or two to get there. Extremely disappointing experience. Please find another shutter company that bills its customers fairly. AHT has poor communication skills, and their billing practices are dishonest.
I would avoid using AHT. I had a very bad experience with them. They have had to fix one of our window shutters a few times. In August 2024, they "fixed" the shutter again. Recently upon our return to our condo, the shutter didn't operate correctly even though we had not raised or lowered the shutter since they "fixed" it. I called them and they came out to service it assuming this would be covered under warranty. Two weeks later they called demanding payment of $300 (this included $90 for the 30-45 minute "use" of a ladder). When I tried to explain that the shutter wasn't really fixed since it malfunctioned after the first use since their last visit, their billing manager demanded payment and blamed me for the shutter not working. When the crew was on-site recently they noted there were too many slats in the assembly and that so many slats would cause it to easily fall off its track. In short, it was set up to fail by AHT. Even worse, the billing manager was condescending and rude. When I told them I would advise everyone in my neighborhood about my experience, they didn't care. They did not service my shutter in a workmanship-like manner and they didn't care to keep me as a customer in any way.
