DuJon was a fabulous installer for Statewide Windows and Doors. He rescued a difficult job in its final stages. He texted the night before and also as he was in route. He arrived on time. He was prepared with all materials needed and was very knowledgeable. He was very skilled, polite, respectful, and hard working. He was a great communicator and explained all I needed to know about the job. He was meticulous in cleaning up and keeping my home free of dust and debris. He problem solved and corrected issues to make the final steps of the job complete. I would recommend DuJon for any work with installation of windows, doors, and floors. He was a problem solver extraordinaire!
Window installation team was wonderful! Love all the help from Sashanna and Steve, our project management team. They were awesome helping us get our grant from the Florida Home Safe program. My sister just signed with them and we tell everyone how wonderful the experience was, including the price. Our salesman Dalton was extremely helpful. The doors appear to be of excellent quality. The installation team was prompt, efficient, neat, polite and very knowledgeable.
Hurricane rated French doors. Two sets.
The design plan for the threshold was not appropriate for this house. The threshold was designed to deter water infiltration at the bottom of the door. The design of this house already had this addressed by the construction of the exterior where openings meet the patio, which is already elevated 4 inches from the patio. It did not need an additional 2 inch threshold. The installed threshold is a severe trip hazard. The design consultant could have, and should have seen that this was not necessary. This caused a great amount of concern and frustration on my part in dealing with Statewide. Their county permit papers show this 2” threshold and they also include a drawing for another threshold that is about 1/2” or 3/4” tall. That was not used in this case.
In the end, a resolution presented from Statewide was that Statewide would put in two transitions on the interior of the house in front of the two sets of hurricane rated French doors. This is a solution that is not entirely satisfying for me, but it is something I’ll have to live with.
The transitions have not been installed yet nor have transitions been presented for approval.
