This is my second time using Kerry Martin Pools, and once again they absolutely delivered. I can’t overemphasize the professionalism, care, and pride they put into their work. From start to finish, the attention to detail was impeccable, and they actually finished ahead of schedule, which says a lot in this industry.

Kyle, Holly, Jay, Anne, and the entire Kerry Martin team were hands-on, responsive, and genuinely passionate about my project. You never feel like just another job — they treat you like family while still operating with the systems, experience, and reach of a much larger company. It’s a rare combination.

If you’re looking for an honest pool builder who doesn’t cut corners and truly takes care of their clients, this is the team to trust. I’ve shared photos and a video walkthrough of the finished pool so you can see the craftsmanship for yourself — their work really speaks louder than words.

The decision to get a pool is tough and your options for contractors may seem endless. Get the pool anyway. I want to give an overview of the things I wanted to see: quality, communication, timely.

Martin Pools made it happen when I didn’t think it was possible. First, I live in a newer subdivision and these developers leave 10 feet in between houses. I interviewed roughly 5 companies. One pretty well known company wouldn’t listen and only wanted to sell me a cookie cutter design, 1 couldn’t get their equipment back here, and the other 2 were just not a good fit. THEN, Holly came in and made it possible, truly listening to what we wanted and didn’t want so we could make our budget work for us. We went into their showroom and spent hours debating over tiles and finishes. Holly has the most positive attitude and is very knowledgeable. Kyle came to the house and walked the site to make sure they could deliver the design. And then we started digging. Be prepared for your yard to look like a dirt hole for at least a month, have some patience, and the end result will be more than you could have imagined. For reference, we signed the contract 6/13, received permit 7/22, started digging 8/9, poured shotcrete (not gunnite) on 8/20, then the tile, plumbing, electrical, footers, pavers and screen enclosure. Hiccups along the way included our tile selection was on back order (we went back to the showroom and picked out another which arrived very quickly), change of staff which caused a slight delay in electrical scheduling (Jay took over and was fantastic in getting us back on track). We filled the pool 11/27 and then the very best part was pool school. Fred came and really took his time explaining the cleaning and maintenance of the pool and equipment.

In short, they are a family owned company who has been doing this for many, many years. This solidified my choice, over a bigger company who doesn’t treat you like family. Holly showed me a quality design and then they delivered. No fuss, no stress. They get it accomplished.

My wife and I were in the market for a pool, and Kerry Martin was recommended to us by a friend. We talked to four prospective pool builders, and they were the most creative in their design, by far. They listened to us and helped us in every way possible. Holly, Kyle, Fred and the gang took great care of us through the pool and spa construction process. As first-time pool owners, we had a lot of questions. We are thrilled with the outcome, and our backyard has been thoroughly transformed.

First off, we moved to Jacksonville in April of this year. This is our “Alamo house “where we plan to live out our final days. We wanted to build a pool that had everything.(we could afford!) in it. Having built four pools prior to this in various locations of our life, I wasn’t looking forward to going through the process again. I took my time and interviewed a total of 11 Pool companies in and around the Jacksonville and Saint Augustine area. I put a list of things together based off of lessons learned on previous Pool builds. Here was the same criteria I used when interviewing all my perspective Pool companies: 1. How long have you been in business 2. I researched all the Reviews I could find regarding each company.3. How much of your Pool building is vertically integrated or done by your company versus subcontractors? 4. Do you have any industrial awards given out by impartial Industry entities (such as Pool Builders Guild, customer service awards,etc)? 5. Build price and value for what you are paying for (getting the most pool for my dollar). On this one, I found many companies wanting to do basically just a square in your backyard, no frills no waterfalls or features no custom design or options. Basically wanting to build a bland pool and charge a nice high price for. 6. Next, I look for customer complaints online and through the BBB. Anything that stood out there that was credible I eliminated those companies.7. This next criteria point was what I considered the most valuable in making my decision…..Do I feel like I can trust this company and do they Have good character. Out of the 11 companies that I interviewed none of them came close to the professionalism, knowledge of the business, and making me feel comfortable that I was with a good company like Kerry Martin Pools did. It started with Michael Schwind Our design and sales consultant. A lot of of these people out selling pools have never built one themselves, Mike Schwind has built Pools himself and knows the operational side as good as any person doing the building. Everything that he told me he would do he did. I told my wife that out of all the people I interviewed, I kept going back to my conversation with Mike Schwind, and how knowledgeable he was and how comfortable he made us both feel that he would be with us throughout the process And he was. During our Design meeting, Mike listens better than anybody else that I interviewed to what we wanted in our pool. He was patient and not pushy. He also offered ideas that I hadn’t thought about. I think the thing that sold me was after verifying all the other information was Mike’s said to me “I could build you up a pool as big as your backyard, but I don’t think that’s probably what you’re looking for“ pool builders make money by building big Pools, but by Mike being very forthright and honest and trying to be accommodating to our needs, I knew Kerry Martin Pools was the place. I wanted to build my next pool. Kerry Martin rose to the top on every metric that I’ve listed here. 1. They’ve been in business for 47 years family business. 2. Almost every single review and research I did I found happy customers. Some customers are never pleased, but I was sort of shocked to see the overwhelming amount of great reviews that these guys have gotten knowing that some people are just malcontents …..and I couldn’t find anyone not happy, a very good sign! 3. Martin Pools does most of their work in house and done by their own employees or other words about 70% is vertically integrated from house. This is a big one if you’ve ever built a pool you know what I’m talking about. There many ‘Pool building companies’ Out there who portrayed themselves as a pool building business when in reality, they subcontract and Outsource 100% of build.
