Better Exterior Solutions

The Screen/Shutter device we bought from Better Exterior Solutions meets all of our specifications. The Fenetex is ideal for viewing though as well as protection for our Deck.

Thank you to Rafy, Drew, and the crew that did the installation. I’ve posted pictures and videos on our HOA website and have had several requests to come see it.

I’m sure you’ll end up with additional business here in OceanWalk in New Smyrna Beach. We are the first in our complex but I think there will be lots more over the years.

Update: 1/4/26: I have to update my review and reduce my rating due to the new patio covers leaking AGAIN. After the first initial rain in November, they came out and said they reviewed everything and sealed everything. After yesterday‘s heavy rain there was leaking from their super gutter. This time I had my brand new patio furniture all set up so it soaked my couch and ottoman. There is also water seeping through where their super gutter connects to our house. They’re going to have to come out and do a second “patch job” to fix this. I am now concerned about the integrity and quality of both covers and if they will last years down the road. Very frustrating when we spent 23K on this.

We wanted to expand our existing covered patio. We were going to go with the company who installed our existing one, but decided to go with better exteriors. Our request was for it to look seamless as though it was one cohesive covered patio.

As with any project, there were some hiccups along the way, but nothing that was not resolved immediately…except for the delay in getting our permits issued due to an engineering mishap. But that actually worked out because the patio project began after we returned from vacation.

The concrete crew did a great job on both of the slabs and notified me as soon as I was able to go out and put my dog paw prints in the cement! They did move the concrete with wheelbarrow so there was spillage in our yard, but they cleaned up as much as they could.

The electricians did a great job and came back at the end of the project to install our two ceiling fans. The only thing I wish had been done differently was the wiring which comes down from my roof through a conduit because it cannot pass through the super gutter on the new patio cover, due to permitting restrictions… But honestly, we really do not even notice it too much.

Luis and Andres did a great job installing the patio cover and getting it as close to our current patio cover as possible.

The main complaint I had which they did rectify was that the engineering team did not account for the gap between each section at the roof line, Because our existing patio is tied into our actual roof. And the two extensions that were installed are set up more like Pergola that butt up against our roof line. Luis and Andres Understood the concern and were able to rectify it to our satisfaction.

We had absolutely no rain during the time the project was taking place. However a few weeks after completion, we had some serious downpours here and I did reach out to them because we noticed a leak. I texted Luis Monday morning and he and his team were out here early Tuesday morning to fix the issue.

Again, even with the hiccups occurring, this team insured that the issues were addressed and resolved as quickly as possible.

We are extremely happy with our extended patio and cannot wait to have family and friends over to enjoy our new space!

Very nice Pergola installation was performed by the team. The three subs handled their jobs with extreme ease by assisting others during the construction. The owner provided various design problems and each of the subs came up with a better solution to the issue!
Bottom line - great project and I would use them again.
