The Home Depot

Went in on Monday February 2nd 2026 to get some houseplant items, and as usual I spent time talking to the employees and asking questions. During my time at the store, I found out that on a 33 degree day, (and a record breaking week regarding cold weather) this store refused to turn the heat on for its employees and customers, or provide space heaters to the employees manning the self checkout area, which lies directly adjacent to the giant sliding doors. I understand that “dollars make pennies” but this is an extremely popular location, and I HIGHLY doubt that spending the money to keep their employees warm on a freezing day is going to hurt their bottom line. When I asked an employee if I could speak to management about it, they said it wouldnt do any good anyway, the best means to make a change would be to leave a review, so here i am. Take care of your people, and they’ll take care of you.

The Home Depot on 22nd Ave. in St. Petersburg, FL has the most AMAZING CREW I have ever encountered at a store like this. I want to publicly acknowledge how much I appreciate all of them. I shop at that location quite frequently and have always had top notch service. What a pleasure it it to be approached by a crew member to be "asked" if you need help instead of having to hunt someone down. I stopped by early morning on Black Friday and they were at the door greeting customers with holiday cheer. Thank You, Home Depot on 22nd Ave. in St. Pete. Keep up the spectacular work!

Shopped mostly in the garden center. Well organized and clean. Had just what I was looking for and needed. Look for a plant while I was there.

I Went IN to Return 3 small items This Afternoon...short line For Customer Service, and When the Associate got to her Station she Hollered NEXT Although I was At the Front of the Line and NOT Wearing Hearing Aids !! I Hollered BACK NEXT and brought my Items to Her Station!! I Had My Receipt for the items, but 1 Item Had No Barcode; she Says
" I HATE THIS!!" SO the Manager of the CUSTOMER SERVICE, said just DO This, because I'm GOing to LUNCH !! WHY Do You Have a Sign That Says Customer Service if You're NOT DOING IT ? I've Had Fantastic Customer Service from Other Associates in the Same Department! This Woman, CHRISTINE, Clearly was NOT Having a GOOD DAY!!
On the Way to Checkout with a Different Purchase, I Smiled at Her and Sent Her Good Vibes ! I Hoped Her Day Gets Better!!

If you need to do a return don’t bother coming to this store. Employees are super rude, don’t want to do their job and when the manger comes over she’s annoyed that she has to do her job. We are then told because it’s online we can return in store because Home Depot online is not the same store and Home Depot in the store……… MAKES NO SENSE! Even showing them that their policy states fast and easy in store or online returns.
