Speaking from experience, I would not recommend Able Air to anyone.

The story began when I had my home built and decided on a few upgrade options. One of those upgrades was the air conditioning unit, because I have a 20×10 patio that would eventually be enclosed, and the upgraded unit would meet the airflow and circulation requirements. You would think this would be an easy process. After all, how could they mess up a brand-new home? Well, the devil is in the details.

After taking possession of the home, and due to living and working three hours apart, I did not immediately begin work on enclosing the patio. When I finally started getting quotes for the project, I discovered that the unit installed in my home was a 2.5-ton unit, even though I had paid for a 3.5-ton unit. You would think Able Air would simply correct the mistake and make things right.

First, they offered to issue a refund. Of course, I said no.

Second, they wanted me to pay extra to upgrade to a 4-ton unit. I said no again.

I only wanted what I had originally paid for. They eventually complied, but that is when the real problems began.

I started to wonder why my home had so much dust, no matter how often I cleaned. I later discovered that when the unit was replaced, they blocked the entrance point needed to access and replace the air filter. Smart and stellar work by the technician.

It also appeared that the technician did not account for the proper drain pipe angle. The drain pipe should slope approximately 1% for proper drainage. For a short section of pipe measuring one to two feet, the drop should only be about half an inch. This allows water to drain efficiently while still allowing the homeowner proper access to replace the air filter.

Instead, the improper installation restricted access and contributed to ongoing maintenance and air quality issues.

Take this as a warning. Be extra careful when choosing an air conditioning company to work on your home. Even with a brand-new build, mistakes can happen—and the consequences can affect your comfort, air quality, and peace of mind.

We had a fantastic experience with Able Air from start to finish. The team installed our Carrier air conditioner/gas furnace unit in a timely and professional manner. The technicians were knowledgeable, courteous, and worked seamlessly together as a team. At the end of the day, they took the time to walk us through the system and made sure we understood how everything worked. We’re very pleased.

Our AC went out the moment the moving company was driving away from our new house. We called Able Air cause the prior owner had used them to service the system. Joe H. helped us fix the problem and get the system running till Monday when he could come to service the unit and see where the malfunction was. He found a serious issue with the system and immediately fixed it the next day. The air is working beautifully now and his knowledge will likely save us alot on our air bill and keep our system running well for the next couple years. Joe was friendly, fast, and informative, and was considerate of the fact that we are new homeowners and needed to be cost conscious. We will be using them for our bi-yearly services and eventually for a new system. I will request Joe every time I call.

John Hammer from Able Air showed up today to determine why our heater was shutting down below 35 F over the last couple nights of record low temperatures.
He quickly found the problem, adjusted and tested the system. In addition, he provided an overview of "why" it wasn't working. Being a data guy, I appreciated this information....where I didn't even have to ask my questions because he had already answered them! Able Air has a well seasoned technician with John.

We'll be requesting John when we have a annual maintenance check done in March.

Thank you John Hammer

A few years ago I put in a new AC Carrier unit using Able Air - I had had a few quotes. It they were the ultimate great experience from starting with quite to finishing with installation.

BUT WAIT! It gets even better! I have called with concerns and even had them out for a very minor service call today and they are the most professional caring and happy to assist company I’ve had in ANY industry! From the sales team to the manager to the technicians and the telephone customer service agents, they all ROCK! THEY HONOR THEIR WARRANTY!

The outside condenser fan made a slight noise as it was slightly crooked and they replaced it no questions or hard time given! Mickey was on time quick and efficiently made the swap - with no charge from company.

I HIGHLY recommend this company for HVAC purchase of any new units and service as well …. they are heads above the others and a pure joy to work with! You will be so happy with ABLE AIR!
