They had my genorac portable generator for 18 months. Couldn't fix it. I couldn't get a response from them I had them bring my back. Then took it to Ronnies small engine on sunbeam road. They had it running in 30 days. Props to Ronnies
Service Contract Warning: Own a residential Generac generator because we have medical equipment in our home that requires an alternative source of power. We entered into a service contract with this company for preventative maintenance and they assured us that the service contract would expedite service calls if we ever had a problem. We were happy with the preventative maintenance portion until we had a problem.
Day One: Multiple calls to the company resulted in voicemails and we left messages about the emergency shutdown alerts we were receiving.
Day Two: Technician called to walk us through how to reset the alarm panel, which we did. He assured us that after the reset, the generator was ready to go. We weren’t comfortable with that guarantee, so tested the generator by shutting off utility power to the house. An emergency shut-off occurred again. Contacted the company and they scheduled a service call for the following afternoon.
Day Three: No one showed up at the arranged time and we received no calls to inform us that they weren’t coming. Left more messages with the company.
Day Four: Unable to reach anyone again so left more messages. Finally contacted a different generator repair company and they arrived within two hours of the call and repaired the unit. It was extremely expensive but First Coast Generator left us no choice.
Beware of entering into a Service Contract with this company.
DO NOT USE…it appears we are not the only ones this guy has cheated!!! Gave a $5000 deposit in October 2024 and cannot get any response even after he agreed to a refund!!! It’s a shame Steve and Ashley Steen thinks it’s ok to just take people’s hard earned money and not deliver a product or refund a deposit for services NEVER rendered!!! Cannot believe I am having to take him to court!!!!!
Company took $14,000+ for the purchase and instillation of a generator in July 2024. Cannot get a hold of them, they do not call back when you leave a voicemail. Cannot get an instillation date. Will be getting a lawyer involved if we get no response in the next couple weeks.
EDIT: We have put in a complaint with the Attorney General.
Excellent local small business. Highly recommend for all generator needs. I have a service contract with them (they come every six months) and couldn't be happier and more impressed with their quality of service and follow up. I never have to spend time tracking them down to make service appointments. Steve and Ashley are friendly and great to deal with.
