I was apprehensive about buying a light fixture unseen as the style I wanted was in a catalog only. The staff was super helpful and he went almost directly to a page in one of their dozens of catalog vendors and picked out the lighting here. It hit all my wants/needs and is perfect for my space. This is the difference between seasoned pros and online boiler room order takers. They can't have everything on display, but don't give up if yours is not there to touch.

We had three 100 year old light fixtures rewired and preserved. Dan did a fantastic job !

I really can not say enough great things about this store; the inventory, their custom services and their owners/staff. I have been a customer for over 7 years and each time I shop or place a custom order I am always impressed by their inventory, knowledge and their ability to deliver the styles I am seeking at a competitive price and in a timely manner.

Thanks to the owners of House of Shades and Lamps for doing such and great job and for not abandoning your customers when the original shop was destroyed and it would have been easier to just walk away than to star over! In a click, pay and ship world, I am so very glad to still have the pleasure of a brick and mortar shop where I can look, touch and feel BEFORE buying :)

I took an heirloom Tiffany floor lamp for repair. Had never used this business before, so was hoping they would take good care of it. Wow, Dan did the repair, & went above & beyond my expectations. The lamp was returned perfectly, and on time. They also have unique light fixtures and lamp shades as well. Will definitely be a return customer in the future.

Worst Customer Service and follow up after the sale I have ever experienced!

I went into the store on July 21, 2019 to see if they had a replacement for 2 bathroom ceiling LED flush mount lights. The young man who helped said they didn't have these items in stock but could order them. After he confirmed that his supplier had them in stock, he took my credit card, charge my credit card for almost $90 and said the lights would be in within 7-10 days and he said he would call me when they arrived. After over 2 weeks with no call I called them and asked about the status of the lights, I was told by a female that they will call me when they came in. I asked them to contact their supplier and get the shipment tracking details to get confirmation that they had been shipped and when they would arrive. I was told they would call the supplier get the details and call me back. I waited and after 3 days and finally had to called them. I spoke with the owner, Mike, he said he would get the details and call me back. I waited 3 more days and again when I did not get a call, I called them, I was told that their supplier in fact did not have them in stock and that they would look to another supplier to see if they could get the lights, I was told I would get a call back later that day to confirm they could get them, guess what? I waited 3 more days with no call back, by this time it's been almost month so I went elsewhere to get the lights. I told them to just refund my credit card for the total amount of the charge - I was told by a female that they could not refund my card that "their credit card system would not allow them to refund my card" - I know this is a lie as all credit card systems allow for refunds. I asked to speak with Mike, they said he would be in at 12 noon and he would call me. I waited until 4pm that day and guess what? No call from Mike - again! I called back to speak with Mike and he would not take my call, I was told by a female that they would write out a check and mail it to me. I told them this was unacceptable and that I would be in that day before they closed to pick up my money. I arrived and without anyone offering an apology or saying a word the young man handed me an envelope, as I opened the envelope the young man said in a very rude tone "it's all there". I will never shop there again and would never recommend that anyone shop there. I gave them multiple opportunities to keep me informed as to the status of my order and they failed each time. They lack good customer service and to own their mistakes!
