First Alert Hurricane Shutters, Windows & Wholesale

Our journey to get a new front door ordered and installed through first alert has been a long and exhausting one. Errors originally occurred with the manufacturer allowing the company to order the door in the wrong size (not their fault). We then had to have a new door ordered and it was then the wrong in swing side. That door was originally installed wrong then they came back and reinstalled it the next day. The final door (3rd door, 4th install) arrived and really is just sub par craftsmanship regarding the installation, it’s certainly not any work they would advertise on their company websites or marketing. Dents in the framing, unaligned locking system (door stays shut sometimes but it comes unaligned regularly and won’t stay shut unless locked), sloppy caulking and sealant, overall just looks mediocre.

Through this entire experience when I raised concerns, instead of taking responsibility or offering immediate solutions, the company repeatedly tried to convince me that the problems either didn’t exist or were “normal” part of process. I had to go back and forth to get any resolution on every step of the door process. It all took up entirely too much time.

I felt was made to feel unreasonable for expecting basic quality craftsmanship and professionalism. Mistakes can happen, but how a company handles them matters.

I would not recommend this company based on the dissatisfaction with the front door we are now stuck with, as well as the stress and loss of sleep this situation has caused me the past several months.

First Alert Hurricane Shutters was fantastic to work with. We love our hurricane screen. It was well made and looks great. Jose created a killer design. When I could not set the upper limit, Bill drove a long distance and came to the rescue. I highly recommend contacting First Alert if you need a hurricane screen or other hurricane protection.

Purchased the SuperNova accordion shutters for a window and door on my house to meet the Wind Mitigation requirements. I was going to replace the door with an impact rated door but because of the unique size it was going to be over $800! The accordion shutter and window were less than half that cost.
The folks at First Alert were very helpful with getting the right product for my needs. I was able to get the shutters in less than 2 weeks which was quick. During the installation process I called with some questions and their tech support was very responsive and helpful. The assembly and installation were very easy for a DIY’er with basic skills and the shutters look and work great. I’m very happy with the product and the help I received from First Alert. Definitely a good company to work with.

My patio door broke so decided to replace it, quoted some other companies and choose First Alert because Bill answer all my questions was very patience and knowledgeable about impact doors and windows. So made the decision of changing all my doors and windows, for a reasonable price. Raquel and Mariana at the office kept me updated every time. And Jose staff that installed the windows and doors were excellent, extremely professional, Jordan explained every details about the windows and doors. Overall my experience with First Alert was excellent and I recommend them.

Fantastic experience. Great company to work with. They deliver quality work, great service at a fair price. The young gentleman doing my installation were so great I felt compelled to prepare lunch for them. In this day and age you have to be careful. I will say I could not be happier with the selection I made. I give them 100%!
