First time visiting Doug's Lamp & Shades. Very impressed with their selection and inventory. Shades galore!! The build quality of their lamps and shades were impressive. Vacuums and accessories selection was great as well. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Will return.

Not very pleased at the service. I dropped 2 lamps off for a repair estimate; the next call I received said “your lamps are fixed and it’ll be $94.56”. Excuse me?! Suppose I thought the price wasn’t worth repairing the lamps and I wanted them back (broken) to do what I wanted with them. Since the lamps belonged to my deceased mother, I bit the bullet and got them. They went in with black cords and came out with brown ones, not because they were out of stock, but because Doug said “we thought they looked better”. Totally uncool. You have no idea what any part of the lamp meant to me. I wish you would’ve just did what I asked and not made executive decisions for me. You ought to be glad anyone came in the store, certainly the lamp repair business isn’t exactly booming. 1 star because 0 stars wasn’t an option. Never returning.

Doug’s lamp and shade is your place for all things lamps! If you’re looking to change the look of a room, you’d be surprised how much a new lamp or even shade will do. The service is superb and they do repairs on your cherished lamps as well.

Doug's lamp and shade has a pretty large selection of lamp shades that come in all sizes and harps to fit them, along with beautiful fineals There are also a variety of lamps antique and new. Lamp repairs start at a standard $24 plus the cost of any parts, and have a few coupons for free work on a lamp in circulation. How fast a lamp is repaired depends on how many lamps are waiting to be repaired and if a part needs to be ordered, but for a normal socket replacement, lamps can be finished and ready for pickup the next day. When the lamp is ready Doug's lamp and shade will call you or leave a voice message. They also sell seafood sauces and hot sauces. While I'm not big on hot sauce, I saw they had ghost pepper and Carolina reaper sauces, but I would recommend the coastal ketchup and tartar sauces.

I went to Doug's to get a vintage hard-wire chrome chandelier converted into a swag lamp that could be plugged into the wall and hung where ever I pleased in the house. I knew I could've gotten a modern looking hanging lamp someplace for cheap but I wanted to save this amazing retro lamp and support a small local business. When I brought the lamp in, I was given a quote of $25. I dropped off the lamp and didn't hear back for over a month. I called them and was told by the end of the week. I called on Friday and was told I would get a call when it was ready. 2 weeks later, I get a call. I go to pick up my lamp and I was incredibly disappointed. The cord was 13" shorter than I had asked it to be (even after having made sure that they knew exactly how long I needed it), and they had replaced the strong and in like-new condition chrome hanging chain with a super cheap chain spray painted white. They had clearly handled the chain too soon after it was painted as there were finger prints in the paint and it was already peeling in some places. The salt in the wound was when I went to pay, the total was nearly $40. I was in with my young daughter and really upset, so I just paid and left. When I got home, I realized the cord had to be longer and that this work was unprofessional and unacceptable, especially for paying $40 when I was quoted $25. I dropped off the lamp the next day and 2 weeks later, I had it back, with the proper length cord and the poorly done chain replaced with the original chrome chain (which is what I had requested from the start).

I was reluctant to share my poor experience with Doug's as they are a small, local business and I hate to hurt a business. But I was so disappointed in how I was treated as a customer. The work was very unprofessional and is unacceptable no matter how large or how small the business. The only thing I must say is that after my insistence, they fixed the problem and I am pleased with my lamp now. But no business should put their customers through that.
