We were so grateful to finally get a warranty on the battery for our Toro weed trimmer taken care of yesterday. Kurt right away said he would probably be able to help us...and he did. He got the paperwork taken care of in no time. But he also went above and beyond with attention to detail and also taking care of some other things for us. Great customer service!!! Which sadly seems rare these days. Thank you Kurt, we really appreciate your help. Definitely, definitely recommend!

See all on Google ↗I took my 7 year old Toro power push mower for a tuneup. I was told it would be ready in 5-7 days. Sure enough on day 7 I got a call that it was ready and I could pick it up. Once I got it home, it sat for nearly a month before I fired it up since grass cutting only happens about once/month in the winter. When I fired it up yesterday, it sounded liked a race car engine. The RPMs grew steadily higher until I thought it might blow. Call Doudna’s and spoke with Jason who told me it could be several things including that the engine is cold and hasn’t been run for a month. He suggested bringing it in and I shared with him that I live alone and can’t get the mower into my Kia without help. He mentioned that it could be picked up. I told him I would start and run the motor for a few minutes to see if it self regulated. I did and it did and I was able to cut my grass with my “back to normal” mower. About 3 hours later, Jason called to tell me he could pick the lawnmower up tomorrow. I told him there was no need since once I started the mower and let it run, all was well. He said that pretty much tells us that a cold engine was the problem.
The call back from Jason is not something expected from service companies and told me that Doudnas cares about their customers and wants to make things right. Doudnas now has a customer for life for all of my small engine needs.
Unfortunately there aren't more negative stars to rate this company. I brought my Troy Bilt Riding lawnmower to this business on 7/1/2025, to have the steering shaft, bolt, bushing replaced because it wouldn't turn. Needed to replace the engine belt and blade too. $831.39 later plus $52.69 for a new battery too. When we went to pick the lawnmower up Kurt told me that as a courtesy they would assist in putting the mower in the bed of my truck of which I purchased ramps to do so. Repeatedly told me that they don't assist. Suggested I bring a trailer next time. Little did I know there was a next time. Used the mower twice and it wouldn't stop when you take your foot off the gas pedal nor would the brake work. Important to know this was NEVER an issue until they worked on it. 9/12/2025 brought it back for the not stopping issue. Kurt had one of the mechanics unload the mower from my truck and repeatedly said they would help as a courtesy. They had the mower for approximately 3 weeks give or take a day or two. $181.23. Was told they didn't know what the problem was and still didn't stop. It just kept rolling. He said that they probably should replace a variable speed pulley. That would have set me back $374.00. By now I'm done with spending more money there for them to tell me it's not fixed. He said he didn't know if that speed pulley assembly would fix it. But yet was willing to spend more of my money and not knowing if it would fix the problem. Was NEVER a problem to start with. I bought it brand new from Lowe's in 2013 and kept up with service on it. He kept saying it's an old mower in bad condition. Seriously. Then tells me he can deliver the mower back to me at no charge. They never offered a delivery service before cause I would have paid to have it picked up and deliver it. Gets better. After the driver delivered the mower the belt that let's the deck come down to cut was not connected. I had to call them back. Fortunately my friend connected the belt so I called back to inform Kurt that we put the belt on. $1,065.31 in repairs and NOT FIXED. For another $1,000.00 could have purchased a brand new mower from Lowe's and be less aggravated. Terrible attitude, terrible customer service and more than terrible workmanship. BUYERS BE WARNED.
Trustworthy fair and helpful. I was unable to start my mower. I brought it by Kurt came out and quickly diagnosed it in the parking lot and fixed it with a simple part. This is why you should come to a local mower shop and not a big box store!
Thank you so much - I highly recommend them.
I brought my self propelled mower here because it wasn’t running right and I had snapped a cable. I called to check on the status and was met with resistance and someone who was rude on the phone as if I was bothering him x They suggested a tuneup and repaired the cable. I paid close to $300.00 Upon taking it home it died out after 30 minutes of use. They told me it’s a seperate issue. So I brought it back. I was left a voicemail saying it’s ready for pickup. I called to see what was wrong with it and was told very rudely that he didn’t have time to explain. Again, as if I was rudely bothering him to find out what they repaired. Went to pick it up and They told me they found dirt in the fuel. Cleaned it out, replaced a minor part of the carburetor and it runs great. Upon taking it home it’s smoking and now I can’t get it to pull start. I called and was met with yet again a rude guy in the phone telling me that’s a separate issue and that I should bring it back. I’m almost $400 into repairs and a tuneup and used the mower all of about 40 minutes and need to bring it back for more repairs?! I’ll have to go elsewhere or now buy another mower. Even though I drive by this business daily and it’s 5 minutes from my house. Very disappointed with the customer service and the fact they couldn’t do what they said, which is get it running and keep it running.
