Louie was extremely helpful!!! He was professional, knowledgeable, and helped me pick the best mattress within my budget. Louie was patient throughout the entire process and truly cares about customer satisfaction. I would recommend anyone to go to this location if you’re in the market for a new mattress!!
Please stay clear of American Mattress. Company filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2025 in Delaware. The company is headquartered in Elk Grove Village, IL and abruptly closed their Des Plaines, IL location this past month. I am not surprised due to the issues I have dealt with during our purchase as well as dealing with the most horrible customer service I have ever wistnessed. Their GM for Florida, Louis Lazzara, was very condescending while dealing with our issues. Their corporate staff in Elk Grove, IL was even worse (especially the lady that answers their phones). As a former Illinois resident, I wanted to deal with a Chicago based company while purchasing our mattress. I learned our lesson. They resell mattress' from stores that have been previously closed (ours came from one of their Naples, FL store that closed 1 week after we purchased)
I really liked my salesperson, he was friendly and knowledgeable and very nice. The first mattress was too hard - when you try in the showroom they’re worn in and softer. I ordered a second and I’m glad I checked because it was the wrong one. The third was good. Even though there is a 100 day guarantee they charge you delivery for the second one.
I prefer working with a saleswoman. Nectar was new to me. I was in search of a softer mattress and all were too firm. The one thing i would like to add in general on behalf of mattress stores, they should price in or even accept your trade-in of a previous mattress like a Car Dealership does. This is a business and they handle mattresses better than we do. If i was an employee there, this would be a Board Meeting winning idea id enter in with before joining! Consumers would shop at the mattress store knowing they'd take their previous mattress as far as discounting the price. Always wise to be conciliatory to the consumer securing more sales that way too! :)
My salesman, David was very knowledgeable, and very friendly, answered all my questions, David and the manager we’re so helpful. I felt I got a really good deal. I definitely would recommend this place.
